Thermowood

_

Thermowood is a kind of industrial wood which its cell wall components are destroyed and reorganized under thermal modification. Its moisture content is greatly reduced ( around %4 to %6 ). This also reduces swelling of wood, increases the strength and durability , significantly increases moisture resistance, and many other benefits. Thermal modification is done without any chemicals and does not cause any damage to the wood. The product was originally developed in Finland which is leading in this industry.

Thermo wood is divided into two categories in terms of wood species: hardwood and softwood. Hardwood type in our country is often made of ash trees and the softwood type is often made of pine. Thermo-pine wood is used in the facade of buildings or vertical places, and Thermo-ash wood is often used in floors and areas that need more strength and durability.

S Class Thermowood

S stands for stability which means  dimensional stability is considered as the main characteristic in product. This thermowood is heated in the process of thermal modification up to 180 degrees centigrade and is suitable for interior space, such as interior furniture, interior connections in the dry space, the implementation of doors and windows. The broadleaved varieties of this class are also suitable for outdoor use.

D Class Thermowood

D stands for durability which means natural durability is considered as the main characteristic in the product, . This thermowood is heated in the process of thermal modification  up to  220 centigrade to increase its resistance against atmospheric factors. This type of thermowood is often used for outdoor use, building facades and humid environments.
